Every Bird Has a Story:

The Yellow Breasted chat is a noisy, robin sized bird. (Robin sized is a legit unit of measure in the bird world.) I’ve observed them only twice. on both occasions they were perched at the top of smalls trees in open land - meadows - and making all sorts of noise. You can’t miss it!

The danger of seeing a birds, on just a few occasions, exhibiting similar behaviors in similar places is that I begin to believe that this is where they are to always be found. It may be, I’ve no idea. In my head this is absolutely where they are to be found. It’s important to keep a very open mind.

When I studied warbler through Cornell’s Bird Academy, I learned that chats are a bit of a taxonomic conundrum. They are outliers in the warbler world. Birds that are warblers……but they’re not.
